"There is no passion to be found playing small - in settling for a life that is less than the one you are capable of living." - Nelson Mandela

Throughout my life I have tried to take advantage of opportunities to serve and lead.  Farm Bureau and the PAL program have prepared me to step up and make a difference in my community.

Recently I was elected to a four year term on the Cache County School Board.

Republican Precinct Chairman

I currently serve as the Chairman of my Republican party precinct.  I help organize and conduct our biennial caucus meeting where we elect delegates to our county and state conventions.  I have also served as a delegate to both conventions where we picked party candidates to run for various elected offices.  In Utah out caucus system is how we choose who will represent the party on the ballet, often times candidates are defeated in the  convention without the "voters" every having the chance to vote on them.  So involvement in the caucus system is the best way to have the loudest voice in Utah politics.

County Campaign Coordinator for US Senate Candidate

I recently help with the campaign of newly elected US senator Mike Lee.  I was asked to coordinate his campaign in my county through both the primary and the general election.  Senator Lee carried my county in both cases.   It was a good experience to learn more about the election process and meet many of the grassroots political leaders in my state.  I hope that through my connections with Senator Lee and several of his senior staff I can have a positive influence for agriculture.

Leadership in Farm Bureau

During my time in PAL I finished up the last year of my two year term as the State YF&R Committee Chairman and conducted our State Leadership conference.  Despite the biggest blizzard the area has seen in several decades just the night before the conference, we had about 200 in attendance and many people commented that it was the best YF&R conference they had been to (thanks to Trent Loos). Being the chairman of the state YF&R committee also gave me the opportunity to serve on the Utah Farm Bureau Board of Directors and learn from some of the great agricultural leaders in my state.

I continue to serve as County Vice President where I take charge of  annual policy meetings and policy implementation.  I continue to look for areas where I may be of service to agriculture in my county and state.
